Description

In March of 2010 Megadeth hit the road in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their classic 1990 album, Rust In Peace. The show was filmed on the last night of the tour at the legendary Hollywood Palladium, not far from where Megadeth was formed in 1983. The band played Rust In Peace in its entirety, including all-time classics Holy Wars...The Punishment Due and Hangar 18. The set list also featured several other fan favorites, including Trust, Symphony Of Destruction and Peace Sells.

Summary: "RUST IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I don't like Megadeth, know only one song (Highway to hell), I never saw them live and I have no album, no dvd. But this a great Concert Blueray. I did not see it, but I give 5 stars! Agree?

Summary: "Marks."

It's pretty dumb when people review a product, like this Megadeth DVD, before it's even released based on the fact that they were there and it was a good show, or because they love Megadeth soooo much. So what if it was a good show? I've seen them before too, and it was a good show even though the lead guitarist sounded drunk and the crowd helped drown out the fact that Dave sounds like his balls are in a vice. On DVD its a different story, and these things stick out way more, and can turn a great show into a bad DVD. This is simply for balance. If it turns out to be a great product then my 1-star review will be drowned out, much like Dave's voice, by the hoards of five-star reviews to come. Maybe even my own.

I was in attendance for this concert, and I know first hand the awesome power, energy, and precision this show had, and I can't imagine that being lost in its transition to BLU-RAY!!! I can't wait to relive the memories of this unforgetable night! As soon as all the fans saw on the marque, "Rust In Peace Live DVD Recording Tonight" We all went into a metal frenzy, and got ready for one of the best shows of all time! Can't wait for this release,(and maybe seeing myself thrashin' in the pit!) and take my word for it, it will rattle you head!!!

Summary: "One of the best albums of all time"

I'm a very lucky person for having "Clash Of The Titans" as my first show. Who would've thought that I would be in the same mosh pit with my metal brothers headbanging and singing a long to the entire R.I.P. album in it's entirety years later. Well I was there and it kicked so much metal ass. Exodus came out and screamed Houston I've heard about the circle pits in texas, show me from that wall to that wall! The whole place just started marching in a circle of destruction and the love of metal. If you were there you know. Thats why I cant wait for this bluray and the second leg of the "American Carnage Tour"! Thrash Till Death!!!!!!

Summary: "Best line-up since the marty/nick days"

The key to this concert's awesomeness is the presence of Chris Broderick (g) and Shawn Drover (d).

Past live DVDs ("That One Night" and "Rude Awakening") have featured a few "Rust in Peace" live tracks already, but 90's/00's guitarists Al Pitrelli and Glen Drover never managed to capture the magic of Marty Friedman's solos and fills (Glen at least tried, but Al didn't seem to care, or to even understood what a landmark album "Rust" was, judging from his shoddy work on the Rude Awakening live dvd).

And former drummer Jimmy DeGrasso utterly failed to emulate Nick Menza's "lead drums" feel on the Rude dvd, choosing instead to inject some sort of laid-back latin jazz feel into the metal. (Or maybe he just couldn't keep up...)

Things started looking better with last year's "Blood on the Water" video -- a 1-hour HDNet special that introduced many Megadeth fans to Chris Broderick, who is -- FINALLY -- the first guy able to nail Marty's stuff, with aplomb! And Shawn Drover has been matching Nick's strengths for several years now.

So it's a TRUE BLESSING that we will get Chris & Shawn's accurate, powerful playing for this release -- and with Dave Elf back on the bass, this blu-ray is pretty much guaranteed to be the best live show Megadeth have done since the 1990 Rock in Rio show!

I'm actually buying a blu-ray player for this. :)
